Terms of Service
The terms for using our website, the free Lumis AIOS Setup plugin and starter materials, and any separately agreed professional services.
Last updated: 1 October 2026
1. Scope
These Terms of Service govern use of the Lumis website, Lumis AIOS Setup and its included starter materials, as well as consulting, implementation, automation, AI, training and related services provided by Lumis.
2. Free AIOS Setup and worldwide availability
Lumis AIOS Setup is published by Lumis and available worldwide, subject to the availability and requirements of your AI platform and connected services. Lumis currently charges no fee for the plugin, its starter templates or its guidance for Context OS and Data OS. AI platform subscriptions, third-party services and API usage may have their own charges. Consulting, custom implementation and services beyond the included setup are separately scoped and priced, with your agreement before paid work begins.
3. Permission to use the starter materials
Lumis grants you a non-exclusive permission to download, use and adapt the included starter materials for your own personal or internal business use worldwide. Ownership of pre-existing material remains with its owner. Preserve included attribution when retaining or adapting the templates. This permission does not transfer ownership or grant rights to resell the plugin or present it as your own product. Any separately identified third-party materials remain subject to their own licences.
4. Your workspace and data connections
You choose the workspace and sources used during setup. You must have permission to access the systems and information you connect, use appropriate access scopes, protect credentials and maintain suitable backups. Review proposed file changes, data access and schedules before applying them. You remain responsible for reviewing business context, checking metrics against source dashboards and deciding how to use generated outputs. Removing the plugin does not automatically remove local files, databases, credentials or collection schedules.
5. AI outputs and support
AI-generated instructions and outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate and require human review. The starter kit and examples may need adaptation to your operating system, tools and source APIs. Lumis does not promise compatibility with every platform or uninterrupted availability. Email support is available for questions and issues; a specific response time or managed implementation is included only where separately agreed.
6. Services
Lumis provides strategy, implementation, workflow design, AI deployment, training, advisory, and related professional services. Specific deliverables, timing, pricing, and responsibilities may also be set out in proposals, statements of work, or separate agreements.
7. Commercial Terms
For paid services, fees, billing timing, payment terms and project scope are determined by the applicable proposal or agreement. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are due within the stated payment period. Refunds are handled under that agreement and any applicable consumer rights. These commercial terms do not impose a fee on the currently free AIOS Setup plugin.
8. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing timely access to systems, stakeholders, information, and approvals needed for delivery. Clients remain responsible for business decisions, internal approvals, compliance obligations, and use of any outputs after delivery.
9. Third-Party Tools and Platforms
Lumis may work with or recommend third-party tools, AI models, APIs, cloud services, and software platforms. Those services are controlled by third parties and remain subject to their own terms, pricing, availability, privacy, and security practices.
10. Confidentiality
Each party must protect confidential information disclosed by the other party and use it only for the purpose of the engagement, except where disclosure is required by law or the information is already public through no fault of the receiving party.
11. Intellectual Property
Pre-existing intellectual property remains the property of its original owner. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Lumis retains ownership of its methods, frameworks, templates, know-how, and reusable materials, while clients receive the rights needed to use agreed deliverables for their internal business purposes.
12. No Guarantee of Outcomes
Lumis does not guarantee any specific commercial, operational, legal, financial, or technical outcome. AI systems and automations depend on client inputs, third-party tools, operational conditions, and human adoption.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lumis is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of revenue, profits, data, business opportunity, or goodwill. Total liability for any claim relating to the services is limited to the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim.
14. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement as permitted under the relevant proposal or written agreement. On termination, the client must pay for work performed and expenses incurred up to the termination date.
15. Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. Any limitation of liability, outcome disclaimer or refund provision is subject to those rights.
16. Changes
Lumis may update these terms and the plugin over time. The version on this page applies from the stated update date. Any future paid offering will be identified before you choose it; installing or using the currently free plugin does not authorise automatic billing.
